FAQs: FTX Clients

What is BitGo's role in the FTX distribution process?

BitGo has been selected by the FTX Debtors and Joint Official Liquidators as an approved Distribution Service Provider (DSP) to facilitate distributions to eligible FTX customers and creditors.

Who is eligible to receive FTX distributions through BitGo?

Creditors who have filed an allowed claim in the FTX bankruptcy proceedings, completed the required pre-distribution steps in the FTX portal, and reside in supported jurisdictions can select BitGo as their distribution provider.

How do I select BitGo as my Distribution Service Provider on the FTX Portal?

To select BitGo, log into the FTX Customer Claims Portal, go to Step 8 ("Distributions: Select Provider"), choose BitGo for your jurisdiction, accept the disclaimer, and follow the link to register your BitGo account.

What email address should I use when registering my BitGo account?

You must register with BitGo using the exact same email address associated with your FTX Customer Claims Portal account so your FTX claim can be successfully linked.

What identity verification (KYC) steps are required for FTX clients?

You must provide a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID), submit proof of residential address issued within the last 90 days, and complete a live facial selfie verification.

How will I receive my FTX distribution once processed?

Once the FTX Debtors release your distribution batch, your funds will be deposited into your BitGo Go Account, and you will receive an automated email notification confirming availability.

What currencies or assets can I hold or withdraw from my BitGo account?

Distributions are initially credited in USD fiat or equivalent value. From your BitGo account, you can withdraw fiat USD via bank wire or ACH, or convert into supported crypto assets like USDC, USDT, BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC, or XRP where allowed.

How do I withdraw my FTX distribution funds to my bank or external wallet?

To withdraw funds, log in to your BitGo account, add and whitelist your bank account or external wallet address, wait for the security whitelisting verification to complete, and submit your withdrawal request.

Is there a deadline to withdraw my funds out of BitGo once received?

No, once your distribution is deposited into your BitGo account, there is no deadline to withdraw your funds, and you can hold, trade, or withdraw them at your discretion.

Who do I contact if I need help with my BitGo FTX account or KYC?

If you need support regarding your BitGo account setup, identity verification, or withdrawals, contact BitGo support directly at ftxcreditors@bitgo.com using your FTX-registered email address.
