Video Verification Overview

Initial video verification process

The KYC final step to set up your BitGo account will be to perform an initial video verification with one of our support team members.

To be prepared for the video, please bring a valid photo ID and ensure that you have a stable internet connection.

Once the video verification is completed, you will be a Video ID verified user on the BitGo platform, able to authorize sensitive actions such as custodial withdrawals, policy changes, and 2FA resets, as well as perform future video ID verification as needed.

Adding additional video verified users

After adding new users and owners to your enterprise, you can add them as additional video verified users directly from the platform.

To add a Video ID user through the platform:

  • Navigate to your enterprise's user management settings
  • When inviting a new user, assign them Video ID Verifier permissions alongside their other permissions
  • The new user will be prompted to schedule their video verification call through the built-in scheduling tool

Important: An existing Video ID verified user who is at least an enterprise owner must be present on the new user's verification call to authorize the addition. If your enterprise does not yet have any Video ID verified users, the enterprise's Primary Contact must be present on the call instead.

Note: It is not necessary to have any additional video verified users; having them provides redundancy for any future actions on your account.

Video verification applies to customers of BitGo Trust Company (South Dakota), BitGo GmbH (Frankfurt), and BitGo Singapore. For questions about other entities, please reach out to your account manager.

Who performs video ID verifications?

The Platform Administrator completes the initial video verification during account setup. After that, any user assigned the Video ID User role can perform video verifications for ongoing actions (withdrawals, policy changes, 2FA resets, etc.) The Platform Administrator does not need to be involved in future verifications unless they also hold the Video ID User role.

To assign the Video ID User role, see the "Adding additional video verified users" section above.

Requesting Video ID Verification via Support

Please submit a request to our BitGo Support support@bitgo.com and include the following information:

  • Enterprise ID

  • New user’s BitGo registered email address

  • New user’s role in the enterprise

Our support team will send a meeting request link to perform the video verification with you and the new user(s).
