Electronic (Prime) Trading Overview

Overview

BitGo supports trading directly from qualified custody accounts through the Trade popup on the Homepage, the Trade tab on the left side bar navigation, or programmatically via API.

By placing orders to buy/sell crypto through BitGo, you benefit from:

  • Simplified counterparty management: face BitGo as your sole counterparty while BitGo connects to an expansive network of 30+ liquidity providers, exchanges and market makers

  • Deep aggregated liquidity and lower costs to trade: BitGo aggregates liquidity enabling competitive pricing, tight spreads and quality execution

  • Enhanced security: your assets remain safeguarded in BitGo’s bankruptcy-remote, segregated qualified custody, protected by institutional-grade controls and $250M in insurance coverage

  • Competitive prices: BitGo's Transaction Cost Analysis tool benchmarks and compares our prices in real time against those of other custodial platforms.

To place orders, you must execute a Master Purchase Agreement (MPA) and fund your Go Account with assets. If you are interested in additional trade offerings, such as trading via a line of credit or without prefunding, additional documentation will be required. Contact your BitGo point of contact to learn more.

BitGo’s trading service is free of charge. Clients receive an all-in price when they trade with no maker/taker fees, no premiums, and no volume-tier pricing or subscription models.
